18 years ago, this extraordinarily rare chalcedony specimen was found somewhere in the Gobi Desert of Inner Mongolia. Inside rounded blankets of gold-green chalcedony are calcite crystals, all supported by a structure of filamentous white chalcedony evocative of a coral reef. This variety chalcedony has never been released again, making this orphan piece something special indeed.
