Golden yellow crystals of flake calcite surround a matrix covered in dark, nearly black sphalerite and snowy-textured quartz in this gorgeous specimen from 2003. The contrast between the dark, lustrous sphalerite and the bright, translucent calcite makes for a striking appearance. The flakes of calcite extend all the way around the back of this piece, like a cloak.
