This red "nail head" calcite, collected in 2021 from Hubei, has very interesting crystal shapes. At the base are triangular formations made from many intergrown, scale-like crystals, above them are many long "nail head" crystals, and coating the gaps in between all of them are small crystals that coat them like icy snow. Inside the "nail head" crystals are rust-red phantoms, and the whole piece has outstanding luster, waxy in some places and glittering in others.
