In this fluorite specimen from Anhui, China, the cubes of fluorite dispersed across the surface are a deep, reddish-purple hue that appears to glow internally when the light bounces off the matrix just right. Each crystal has subtle growth lines on its face like a topographic map. The matrix is a lovely light peach color and is dotted with small, cone-shaped crystals of calcite.
