It is light brown in color with well-developed euhedral crystals. Step-like growth textures and etched pits can be seen on crystal faces with distinctive adamantine luster and translucent texture. Tiny graphite inclusions are enclosed inside the crystal, and it displays intense blue-green fluorescence under long-wave UV light.

天然单晶金刚石产自中国湖南省常德市沅江市。

属于等轴晶系标准八面体晶形，整体呈浅棕褐色，晶形完整自形度佳。晶面分布阶梯状生长纹路与溶蚀凹坑，拥有标准金刚光泽，质地半透明。晶体内含有少量石墨包裹体，在长波紫外灯照射下会发出强烈的蓝绿色荧光。
